Seattle Row for the Cure® offers the first head race of the fall season AND a chance to raise funds for breast cancer screening, support and research.
WE won't "way 'nuff" tilL we find a cure
Rowers are known for their drive, their tenacity, their passion, and their love of the sport. Rowers are competitive and challenge themselves every day, balancing the desire to perfect their technique with the need to just go faster. Rowers push themselves harder than most, and rowers want to win.
Rowers are the perfect bunch to support our community as we battle to win the fight against breast cancer. Ultimately, that is why we come together each year. Not only as competitors, but as a rowing community. One goal: to kick cancer, together!
We are proud to be a national supporter of Susan G. Komen®. The money we fundraise supports local education, free screenings, follow-up treatments, spreading awareness in our region, and cutting edge research.
For everyone involved with our mission – it’s personal. Volunteers, sponsors, donors, and participants across the country have all been touched in some way by this deadly disease. Together, we make a difference!
DAMPER (Donating A Mammogram Per Every Rower)
Imagine 1,000 rowers raising $150 each to support the cost of a mammogram for 1,000 individuals - with a single goal to save lives! Imagine the impact one person can make for another life with that small amount of money? It's possible! We are proud to partner with Komen who supports our community with a wide range of breast health services, education, and awareness happen for so many women in our region.
Home of the Pink Erg
ALL TEAMS CAN WIN in 2018!
Seattle Row for the Cure is THE home of the Pink Erg. We began this fun team competition for both youth and masters teams in 2016. Since then, we have given away 6 Pink Ergs to the top fundraising teams. This year, we are shaking it up. ALL TEAMS CAN WIN A PINK ERG!
- All Junior/Youth teams that fundraise $8k or more will receive a pink erg.
- All Masters teams that fundraise $10k or more will receive a pink erg.
Let's fill Gas Works Park with Pink Ergs every year!
One thing different about our regatta, it's meant to be fun and a little crazy! We encourage and reward rowers to 'get pink' and make the most of it with costumes and any type of imaginative gear they can come up with. Costumes are judged by a panel of volunteers, typically from Puget Sound Komen, and the winners receive recognition and promotion throughout the year.
